Cars made prior to 1905 are today classified as Antique, whereas those made between 1905 and 1918 and between 1919 and 1930 are said to be Veteran and Vintage respectively. A precious few of the surviving classics from these eras as well as various classic examples of Post-Vintage, Post-45 and Post-60 cars have been meticulously preserved in South Africa – many are still in good working order – and are exhibited by their proud owners at various events around the country:
